Anna Kendrick began auditioning for Broadway shows when she was a teenager at Deering High School in Portland. At the age of 12, she was offered her first major acting role in the theatre when she joined the cast of High Society in 1998. As a child her performance was sufficient to earn her various awards and nominations. She was featured in A Little Night Music in 2003. The following year she made her debut in film in the film Camp at age fifteen. Kendrick received more nominations and awards for her role in Rocket Science and later in the film.
